Zeffyr LLC, a California limited liability company ("Zeffyr," "we," "our," or "us"), helps people discover, host, and RSVP to local events and connect with others. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our mobile apps, our website at zeffyr.app, and related services (together, the "Service"), including when you respond to an event invitation as a guest without creating an account.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is intended only for people who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. See "Children's Privacy" below.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, a password (stored only in hashed form), your date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or older), and a username and display name. If you sign up using Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, depending on the provider and your settings, your name and email address.
Profile information. You may choose to add a profile photo, your real name, gender, pronouns, a short bio, your general location (such as city/region), school or job title, and event preferences. Many of these fields are optional, and you control much of what is shown publicly through your privacy settings.
Event and RSVP content. When you create or host an event, we collect the details you provide — title, description, date and time, location, event flyer or image, and privacy/approval settings. When you RSVP to or interact with events, we collect your response (such as going, maybe, or can't go), group size, notes, and similar information.
Messages and connections. We collect the content of messages you send through the Service, including text, photos, and — only if you choose to attach it — a location. We also collect actions you take to connect with others (such as friend requests, reactions, kudos, and reports).
Guest RSVPs. If someone invites you to an event and you respond without creating an account, we collect the information you submit on the RSVP page — such as your name, your response, the number of guests you're bringing, an optional note to the host, and, if you provide it, a contact email address or phone number so the host can reach you about the event.
Communications with us. If you contact us (for example, by email), we keep your messages and contact details.

You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. The app does not access your phone's contacts or address book.
To save you time when creating an event, when you upload an event flyer or image we send it to our AI provider (Anthropic) to automatically read and extract event details such as the title, date, time, and location. We may also use automated classification to categorize events. These features process the content you submit only to provide the feature; they are not used to make legal or similarly significant decisions about you. Please avoid uploading images that contain sensitive personal information you do not want processed in this way.

With service providers (sub-processors). We use trusted third parties to run the Service. They process your information only to provide services to us. They include:
For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or government request; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Zeffyr, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Zeffyr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.
We send you service-related messages (such as verification codes, password resets, security notices, and event invitations) that are necessary to operate the Service. If you provide a phone number (for example, to verify it or as a guest RSVP contact), we may send you service-related text messages such as verification codes and event updates from your host; reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time (message and data rates may apply). With your permission, we send push notifications about messages, invitations, and event activity. You can turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our agreements. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period and in the records of other users (for example, messages you sent them or events you hosted).
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to receive a copy of your information. You can:

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashing of passwords, and secure storage of authentication tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials confidential.
We are based in the United States, and our service providers are located in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries that may have data-protection laws different from your own.
Zeffyr is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us information, please contact us at hello@zeffyr.app and we will take steps to delete it.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, maps or external event pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
