"Otherworldly: Science Fiction Art" at the Hilbert Museum

Join us at this special show celebrating 10 years of the Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University! This out-of-the-world exhibition explores California's role in imagining the future through science fiction in animation, illustration and entertainment art. Highlights include concept art by Eyvind Earle for Disney's Man in Space , Star Wars drawings by Robert Bailey, animation cels from The Jetsons and the 1960s The Adventures of Tintin animated series, along with paintings and illustrations inspired by space exploration and technological innovation. Curated by Mary Platt, Otherworldly celebrates the artists whose imaginations helped shape popular visions of tomorrow, demonstrating how California artists have long stood at the intersection of fine art, storytelling and innovation.
