Not Big Law or Bust: An Informal Community Discussion

Feeling overwhelmed by the idea of Big Law or Bust? Is Big Law not what you actually want to do, but you feel pressured by the allure of the golden handcuffs? Join the Berkeley Plaintiffs’ Law Association for a student-only community discussion about the Big Law recruitment dystopia, its implications for students from first-generation or other underrepresented backgrounds, and what it means to opt out of the hysteria. Speak with 2Ls and 3Ls about ways to stand by your values and forge your own path in the years ahead—because where you work over the summer and right out of law school does not, and should not, determine the rest of your life. Date: Thursday, October 22nd, 2026 Time: 1-2pm Location: Heyman Terrace Steps (we have Student Center Room 37 as a rainy day backup)! Please RSVP here so we can get enough food for everyone!
