"What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves.” ~Paolo Friere “The teacher is of course an artist, but being an artist does not mean that he or she can make the profile, can shape the students. What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves.” ~Paolo Friere If the goal is a better world, then we must move toward that goal vigilantly. We need programs that transform and liberate. We need lessons and activities that open minds and challenge assumptions to create social change. How do we design curriculum that will capture their imaginations and make them question the world’s conditions? In this workshop you will be lead through a tried and true process and receive tools for planning curriculum that will not only engage your students but will also develop their skills and their socio-emotional literacy. DCYF Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Team In-Person Workshops Please arrive on time and be prepared to actively participate in the workshop. Workshop location and other important details will be included in your Eventbrite registration confirmation. If you do not receive your Eventbrite confirmation email, please check your junk or spam folder. If you still cannot locate it, contact the TA/CB team. If you have registered for a workshop but are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration through Eventbrite or notify the TA/CB team as soon as possible. This helps us make space available for other participants. Participation Our workshops are designed to encourage collaboration, creativity, learning, and sharing . Because these sessions are interactive and in person, participants should be prepared to engage in activities, discussions, reflection, and group learning. We understand that participants may have competing responsibilities. If you have questions or concerns about your ability to participate fully, please reach out to the TA/CB team. Feedback At the end of the workshop, you will receive a survey. We greatly appreciate your feedback and use it to help us improve future Technical Assistance and Capacity Building offerings.
