What Generative AI Is (and Isn’t)

New to generative AI, or skeptical of it? Join CTLFS for “What Generative AI Is (and Isn’t),” the first of a three-part series on AI in the classroom. You’ll learn in plain language how AI creates responses and why it sometimes invents information, known as hallucinations. See how small changes to a prompt can lead to surprisingly different results. Then try a simple prompt framework on a task from your own course, and learn where human judgment is still essential. This series takes a balanced approach, so you can decide what role, if any, AI should play in your courses. No prior experience is needed. Bring a laptop and one teaching task.
