Sistah Scifi & Aunt Lute Popup Shop: Boo-k Fair

Visit Sistah Scifi and Aunt Lute at Oakland’s Book Fair for scary books, indie presses, community, and an onsite book promotion. Sistah Scifi is teaming up with Aunt Lute Books to vend at the Boo-k Fair: BABF’s Halloween Indie Press Fair in Oakland! Spend a perfect fall afternoon exploring books that frighten, unsettle, and illuminate—from jump scares, gore, and supernatural horror to chilling nonfiction about our political and social realities. The fair will feature 15 independent presses with specially curated scary books, a Silent Book Club meetup, and a book-swap table where you can leave a scary book and take another one home. Enjoy food, a hot toddy, spooky-season reading, and bookish community at Two Pitchers Brewery. Stop by our tables to browse a specially selected collection of horror, speculative fiction, gothic literature, and other haunting reads by Black, Indigenous, and authors of color. Sistah Scifi will host a separate, free onsite promotion featuring a Black Vampires Book Bundle valued at approximately $90.
