EBMUD Underworld: A Halloween Wastewater Tour, 10am (must be 10yo+)

Descend into an undead world of wastewater treatment for a Halloween tour of the EBMUD wastewater treatment facility. Tickets are available to reserve starting Monday, 10/12/2026 at 8pm for this 10/24/2026 10am tour. (Four tickets maximum per reservation. All attendees need a ticket, attendee name must be provided for each ticket.) Meet at the entrance at 2020 Wake Ave., Oakland only. https://www.ebmud.com/wastewater/collection-treatment/wastewater-treatment-plant-tours Step beyond the veil of the ordinary and explore where all drains lead—through shadowy channels, eerie pipes, and bubbling cauldrons of transformation. Along the way, uncover spooky secrets of the microscopic monsters that feast on waste, and witness how science and engineering work their magic to protect our communities and the Bay. Dress for the occasion (zombies, mummies and demons welcome), and prepare for an undead educational experience that proves even the underworld can have a happy ending. Your safety is our top priority as you journey through the realm beneath. The treatment plant is alive and working—its pathways filled with rumbling iron beasts (heavy trucks) and swirling currents of activity. Beware: the path ahead may lead you up narrow stairways, across uneven ground, and through chambers filled with eerie odors and the flapping wings of feathered spirits (birds). To protect yourself in the underworld: Only those prepared with safe attire may pass through the gates. Enter wisely and tread carefully!
