African Medea by Jim Magnuson

Jim Magnuson's powerful adaptation of Euripides' classic Greek tragedy relocates the story of Medea to nineteenth-century West Africa, weaving together themes of colonialism, cultural identity, resistance, and revenge. Both timeless and urgently relevant, African Medea explores what happens when personal betrayal collides with political oppression, creating a gripping drama of passion, sacrifice, and survival. This production is rated PG-13 for mature content and descriptions of violence.
